Mr. Kamal Preet Singh
Kamalpreet Singh is an Indian professional hockey player who plays as a center forward for New Delhi in the I-League.
Career[edit]
Born in Punjab, Singh began his career at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium where he played along with both the Indian youth sides.[1]
Early and personal life[edit]
Kamal Preet Singh was born in a middle-family village on the outskirts of Punjab in India. He first met her when the team featured in the Asian Roller Hockey Championship in 2009 where the Indian team won the Silver Medal.[2]
Before the game, he focuses and relaxes by meditating with yoga and listening to Punjabi Bhangra music, especially Diljit Dosanjh and Happy Raikoti. He carries his twelve sticks with him whenever he travels for matches[3]. He is a fan of Akshay Kumar and enjoys watching movies of the sports genre, such as M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story, and Chak De! India and Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, and he would love to try acting in movies if offered a role.[2]
His big dream is to "win big for India" and his most significant goal is to "inspire youngsters to play a sport, any sport".[2]
National Tournament[edit]
He then scored the first double of his career against Delhi on 26 February 2009 against Uttar Pradesh at the Major Dhyan Chand National Hockey Stadium. when he scored 58 minutes into the match as well as 67 minutes into the match. This led Himachal to a 3–1 victory over Uttar Pradesh.[4]
International[edit]
Singh has represented India at both the under-19 as a goalkeeper and forward player sides.[5]
